Shield is a fictional superhero item in the Marvel games universe. Captain America uses it for both defensive and offensive purposes, and it is rarely seen without him. How to get a shield?
Trade with Miron McLain to get a shield (or get it through your creativity inventory). You can also get it by killing the Drowned Zombies.
