Founded in 1984, Onex is one of the oldest and most successful private equity firms. Today, we have approximately $32 billion of assets under management, including Onex proprietary capital of $6.8 billion.

Through Onex Partners and ONCAP private equity funds, we acquire and build high-quality businesses in partnership with talented management teams. Through Onex Credit, we invest in non-investment grade debt through credit funds and collateralized loan obligations.

Onex invests its capital together with capital from investors from around the world, including public and private pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, banks, insurance companies and family offices. Onex earns management fees on approximately $22 billion of assets under management and has the opportunity to share in the profits of its investors through carried interest and incentive fee participation. This provides Onex enhanced returns from its investment activities. We do not raise pools of capital in which we are not an investor.

Our Goals

Onex business objective is to create long-term value for shareholders and to have that value reflected in its share price. Our strategies to deliver this value are concentrated on (i) acquiring and building industry-leading businesses and (ii) managing and growing fund investor capital in our private equity and credit platforms.

Grow Onex Capital per Share by 15% per Year

The performance of our private equity portfolio has been, and will continue to be, the primary driver of Onex net asset value growth. Over more than 30 years we have generated a 28% gross IRR on our realized, substantially realized and publicly traded investments. Today, approximately 58% of Onex capital is invested in private equity, 10% is invested in sub-investment grade credit and the balance is held in cash and other investments.
