Description
Internet Protector is a software application that provides a means to assign a personal password to an "always-on" broadband Internet connection on a single PC. In essence, it is a "light switch" by which you can turn Internet access on or off on your computer. Intended to help parents control Internet access when they are away.

With this program you can control the times users of your PC can access the Internet, but it's relatively easy to circumvent this simple application's functionality. Internet Protector has a no-frills, straightforward interface that allows you to set a password for login, enable or disable Web access with one click, and enable or disable the auto timer. Using the auto timer mode, you can specify the days and hours you want to block Internet access or select from four preset time blocks. Unfortunately, savvy users can override this feature by manipulating the system clock, a fact mentioned in a program window. We appreciate the error-trapping feature that locks the program after a number of incorrectly entered passwords are entered. If you're looking for an ultrasimple Internet-control program to deter young users, Internet Protector will do the trick.
