Description
The objective of Color Eggs is to help small chicks come into the world. A hen lays eggs and the chicks hatch, but they cannot do so individually. A chick can hatch only if it lies beside its brothers and sisters, so your task is to arrange the same-colored eggs in a horizontal or diagonal row or in a triangle. While the eggs are falling, you can rearrange them by changing their relative positions in the row.
Review
Good graphics and well-done ambient barnyard noises lift Color Eggs above the average Columns clone. It's not all fun and games, though. On installation, the program offers to send you to the Gamextazy Archive. The archive page opens a Web page and a pop-up ad. Installation puts two promotional icons on your desktop. We only got to play to Level 4 before the demo game ended, but it was fun while it lasted. Your goal is to hatch eggs by matching three of the same color in a line or in a triangle formation. You can change the order of the three-egg column while it's still in the air with the 8 and the 2 on the numeric keypad (or with the up and down arrows). The 4 and the 6 (or the left and right arrows) let you move the column back and forth. Pressing the space bar drops the column into the well. Because the eggs are round, they roll when they hit the stack. As a hint, the eggs in the well start to wiggle when a match is near. Fans of puzzle games should enjoy the look and playability of Color Eggs.
