Description

Interstellar Trader 2 is the sequel to the original strategy/simulation game where you become the owner of a start-up merchant business in outer space. You do this by traveling from planet to planet in the galaxy, buying and selling items in the various marketplaces. The sequel features all the same addictive, free-form gameplay as the original, with more choices, graphics, and special features.

If grocery lists of figures is your idea of fun, you're in for a treat with this strategy game. While Interstellar Trader 2 teases initially with a colorful world of alien commerce, the game dissolves into a rather benign task of adding and subtracting. You are a trader who travels among a dozen or more planets looking to sell your wares and buy goods. The worlds you visit are very conveniently deficient in some goods, or experiencing a surplus in others. You navigate this, saving cash as you travel to reach the intended amount that signifies you've "won." There is little or no atmosphere to Interstellar Trader 2, aside from the graphical teaser at the beginning of the trailer. You might get attacked by pirates, but you'll read about it instead of watching it happen. Game options are fairly varied, allowing you to select ships and add weapons, but it's all hypothetical, or "on paper," so to speak. Those who find adding sums a blast or who may be considering a career as an accountant may find this galactic trader game amusing, but those seeking a bit of action (as well as visual stimulation) should look elsewhere.
