Description
InstaCropper is an image-processing utility that allows users to crop unneeded parts of images quickly and effortlessly. InstaCropper uses two main cropping functions: auto crop and manual crop. In addition, images can be cropped either individually or in batches. In batch processing, a large number of images can be processed in a uniform fashion. This method is useful to create thumbnail images, for example. In the interactive mode, you can select an image to be cropped and previewed on a window, and save the cropped image into a file. InstaCropper can be useful for cleaning up digital camera images, scanned images, electronic documents, and captured images without the help of full-featured image-editing software. InstaCropper supports JPEG, BMP, TGA, and PNG image file formats for input and output. New features in this version are a fixed size output, an eyedropper to pick a crop color, image flip, thumbnail view, and an easier user interface.
Review
Unique and elegant, InstaCropper takes a single image-editing function and builds a solid program around it. Through a thoughtful modular interface, you browse images, crop them manually or automatically, apply special options and preview the results. Options and extras include noise filtering, crop color, tolerance, image rotation, and inversion. Photo hobbyists and professionals alike will find InstaCropper a welcome addition to their toolset.
