Description
GreenClean is a tool that cleans disks and gains space in just three clicks by removing all unneeded junk files. The files can be dragged to the Recycle Bin, deleted permanently, or moved to a folder. The moved files also can be restored to their previous locations. The program can clean the Internet history files, the Windows temporary files, and the recent files records.
Review
This small program rids your PC of space-hogging junk files, but offers little in the way of features or extra functionality. The interface looks somewhat cheesy, but is a breeze to use since it walks you through the cleaning process in three easy steps. You simply select which drives to scan, choose which file types to locate, and start the scan by clicking a red arrow. In our tests, GreenClean's search speed left much to be desired, though the program let us quickly sort its results by several parameters, including filename and size. GreenClean's biggest misstep, however, is that it lacks a secure file shredder for permanently erasing sensitive documents. If ease of use is more important to you than power, GreenClean fits the bill, though we'd hesitate to call it 100 percent secure.
