Description
In a new Pac-Man adventure featuring 35 levels, the ghosts are clever so take care not to be near them, or they'll follow you till you're caught. Four bonus wildcards randomize at each level. Don't forget to catch more stars, cups, hammers, and hearts so you can increase your score. Pacman 2002 includes a level editor.
Review
Despite its title, this variation of Pac-Man offers little innovation over the original 1980's game. Indeed, the simple graphics and audio take you back in time, as they look and sound like they come from another decade altogether. Beyond the multitude of levels, the developers have respected the original game's idea and haven't really added anything new. However, this game is more challenging than many other Pac-Man clones, as the ghosts that pursue you are quite aggressive. You can select the difficulty mode and disable the sound, but Pacman 2002's best feature--a level editor--isn't available in the demo version. If you're still hungry for a nostalgia trip once you're done playing, you can visit the help files for an extensive history of the game. If you like Pac-Man, you'll have fun with this version so long as you don't expect anything groundbreaking.
