Description

This program lets you create interactive, 3D product presentations and 3D worlds for the Web as Java applets. You can develop applets by visually connecting preprogrammed objects. The program comes with more than 50 objects, but it can easily be expanded with new objects as add-ons. 3D presentations can be combined with Macromedia Flash animations, MPEG video, MP3 audio, and GIF animations. 3D models can be exported from leading 3D tools, imported to WireFusion, and then published to the Web. Supported 3D tools include 3ds Max, Maya, Plasma, 3D Studio Viz, LightWave, TrueSpace, Cinema 4D, and Poser.

Review

Editor review

The program is designed to produce Web presentations of the highest quality--and it does. WireFusion Professional's installation is very detailed and even displays how much space is required for it on the hard drive. A small quibble is that you have to launch the software manually, but that's probably all for the best. Users will want to read the extensive and separate tutorial before starting work. Although the main window looks extremely complicated, help is available for each feature. You can include nearly any content you want, including Flash, 3D animations, and music. Moreover, WireFusion provides a plethora of features for fine-tuning the presentation, including a sequencer, a time line, and filters. Each scene can be previewed and debugged before you create the final presentation. We highly recommend this detailed and well-organized program for professionals, but be aware that the full version costs nearly $1,000--so novices and dilettantes may want to step away quietly.
