Description
Zany Blocks is a challenging puzzle game in which you must match three or more same-colored blocks to clear a playing field. There are three exciting modes of play: Marathon, Puzzle Challenge, and Time Attack. Pass through 60 puzzle-challenge levels of the full version. The trial version has limited levels, and no time attack or score saves.
Review
This puzzle game takes an interesting approach to a widespread formula. As in similar games, your job is to clear the board by matching tiles of similar colors to form combos. However, in Zany Blocks you must rearrange preexisting bricks, rather than simply move ones that fall from the sky. The fact that it's somewhat of a chore to use your mouse or keyboard to move tiles makes the game fairly challenging, even on its easiest difficulty level. Still, we had to consult the animated tutorial to get our bearings. We liked the game's sound track but found the graphics strictly average. You can play in both full-screen and window modes, adjust the volume, and choose from Marathon or Puzzle variations. Puzzle fans looking for a new way to test their minds may find Zany Blocks fits the bill.
