System monitoring and Internet monitoring provided in V3Pro 2004 thoroughly shut off viruses, worms and Trojan from streaming in by monitoring all streaming paths (Internet, network, or floppy disk) of viruses in 24-hours-a-day-real-time background mode. In particular, Internet monitoring provides detection and cleanup feature for all protocols (HTTP, FTP, e-mail (POP3 and SMTP), Telnet, and NNTP) and Internet mail formats (UUencode, BASE64, and MIME).

This program offers a number of features to protect your system against viruses, but doesn't offer firewall, spam, or other tools for comprehensive system security. V3 Pro 2004's cleanly designed interface is easy to navigate and offers scanning and real-time monitoring of your system, the Internet, your start-up programs, and e-mail. You can scan your hard drive, floppy disks, and CD-ROMs and create a custom list of areas to be scanned. Although the program is preset to conduct a weekly scan, you can set your own scan schedule, and it logs each scan so you can easily review results. We especially liked the Security Warning Report that analyzes your system for possible security weaknesses and indicates potential areas of concern. During our tests, the program didn't cause any sluggishness during the scans and results were provided in a way that was simple enough for even the novice to understand. With its easy setup and intuitive design, V3 Pro 2004 is a nice addition to any user's arsenal of security tools, as long as you don't expect it to handle every security issue.
