Review
This application effectively schedules basic tasks, but does not politely install. Phatsoft TMR's well-designed interface is the very model of simplicity with all needed items in a small stylish dialog box. Unlike its overly complex competitors, this simple tool requires a mere three steps to get going: set the time, select the task, and click Create. This application easily pops-up messages, runs applications, plays sounds, or shuts down/restarts/logs-off your PC. Impressively, since it ties into the Windows Scheduling System, this application requires very low memory overhead. We found the command-line syntax useful for running PhatSoft TMR in scripts and batch files. However, we missed a built-in option to assign the utility to a hot key. We also were disappointed the executable did not offer any choices for installation folders or icons. All levels of users looking for a simple but effective alarm and task scheduler should give this freeware a try.
