Eventcorder is a visual, easy-to-use and versatile macro recorder and player. Eventcorder suite is a set of applications and tools to create regression and GUI testing sessions, simple and complex automation, data inputting, self-running presentations, benchmarking, and similar.
In version 2.0.41, seen window in the events editing dialog is replaced with a combo box. It is possible now to work with all the windows that were visible at the moment when the playback failed.
Review
This time-saving application automates recurring tasks, although some features will be best understood by advanced users. Eventcorder Suite comprises four programs, each with similar, standard Windows dialog boxes. The well-written and comprehensive help file is a must for this standard macro utility. The central function is the Eventcoder, a standard Windows event recorder and playback tool. The E-Scripter function is a simple editor for Visual Basic scripts. E-Scheduler is a basic tool for running the scripts and playbacks at precise times or after certain triggers. Users can force a script to compare the current screenshot against a saved screenshot, to trigger (or not to) script events. SSF-Editor is a rare feature that opens screenshots recorded by Eventcoder to mask areas that will not be compared. Advanced users will find all four functions easy to manipulate. The program suite performed well during our tests, but E-Scheduler often failed with a program error. Eventcorder Suite is best used by advanced users with a need to automate repetitive tasks.
