Review

Editor review

Although this PDF-conversion tool handles its main job, a troublesome installation and a stingy trial restriction keep our enthusiasm at half-mast. PDF2all can convert document types such as Word, Excel, and Access into PDFs, and it also can convert PDFs into several popular image formats. However, to work properly, you'll need to have both GhostScript and PostScript on your machine. PDF2all's installation does not include these applications, so you'll have to go to the developer site to obtain them. We wish the publisher would at least notify you of this fact before you try to convert files and get an error message. Still, once we slogged through the process of installing the extra programs, PDF2all demonstrated quick and accurate results. You'll also find tools for cropping and watermarking PDFs, but since you only can use the demo a scant nine times, you may not get around to testing these features. All told, this program would make a more compelling option if the installation process required less user interaction.
