This program combines the classic tic-tac-toe game with a basic addition tutorial, resulting in an entertaining way to learn. Tic Tac Total's interface resembles the traditional tic-tac-toe board, although this program displays 25 squares instead of only nine. Each square of the grid contains a number, and after you line up three Xs or Os, you'll be asked to correctly add all three numbers to tally your score. When the board is full, the player with the most points is declared the winner. You can choose to challenge one of three computer opponents, or you can play against another human. The graphics and sound aren't mind-blowing, but they do get the simple concept across just fine. The game's sound effects can be disabled, but that's about the only customization option available. Though it's clearly not aimed at older players, Tic Tac Total makes a quality math tutorial for young children.
