Description

Nexus Imager is a fast high-resolution digital-imaging program with a thumbnail browser that allows the user to view, organize, edit, save, and print images. It offers tools to the user to resize the image, crop, flip, emboss, diffuse, smooth, and sharpen. It also offers different modes to view the selected image, such as full screen or a slide show.

Version 1.0 adds new functions including Rename in Order, Rotate, Undo, Fit to Screen, Resize Multiple Images, Image Blend, and Set as Wallpaper.

Review

Editor review

This garden-variety image viewer's inclusion of a few editing tools makes it a better option than it otherwise would be. We're not big fans of Nexus Imager's cluttered, multipane interface. Once you open a folder of pictures, the program displays a list of shots and a pane of thumbnails on either side of the main window, which cuts down on the available preview space. You can choose only to display the thumbnails, but we wish you were given this opion for the preview pane as well. Outside of its main job, Nexus Imager provides simple editing utensils for cropping, rotating, flipping, and adjusting color levels. You'll also find filters for sharpness, smoothness, embossing, and solarizing, but since you can't adjust the effects, you'll have to live with the manner in which the program applies them. We wished the slide-show tool did more than automatically scroll through photos within the application. If you primarily need a way to view shots and perform the occasional basic edit, Nexus Imager may fit the bill, but it's certainly not for power users.
