Description
PC-Keylogger monitors keystrokes on your computer while you're away. The information is saved into a log file and can be privately sent to your e-mail address. The program is an invisible and easy-to-use surveillance tool that records every keystroke to a log file. This free key-logger program can work in stealth mode and is next to impossible to detect. Only the person who knows a special key combination can control it, and it is password-protected.
It records keystrokes and all events and applications launched on your computer. Every keystroke is written to the log file with the title of the window that was active at that moment. This security agent lets you monitor the sites your family members access. It monitors the Internet activity by logging the addresses of visited home pages. Even if someone cleans the browser history and cache, all activity is logged. PC-Keylogger also can record the conversations in online chat rooms on the PC side.
Review
This piece of snoopware falls short, due both to its limitations and serious security problems. PC-Keylogger lets you monitor computer usage by recording keystrokes, taking periodic screenshots, and logging visited Web sites. However, since the program only works with Internet Explorer and can only take screenshots every five minutes, it's nowhere near as powerful as some of its competitors. You can have logs e-mailed directly to you, but you can't choose to block objectionable Web sites from minors. The ho-hum interface could be better consolidated, but it's still pretty straightforward. Our biggest problem with PC-Keylogger concerns its questionable security. Although the program features a stealth mode and password protection, it can easily be disabled via the Task Manager. You also can uninstall it from the Start menu without the master password. Therefore, this utility is only appropriate for spying on children or extremely inexperienced users.
