Wit and Wisdom is a clever Windows screensaver, designed to keep you amused and enlightened when your computer is idle. Every 15 seconds or so, your screen will be refreshed and updated with a clever thought, a famous quotation, or witticism. It contains more than 2,900 quotes and words of wisdom, such as thought-provoking words spoken by prominent figures from around the world, and through the ages.
Review
True to its name, this screensaver delivers daily nuggets of wisdom to your PC screen. Wit and Wisdom features quotations from famous folks such as Woody Allen, Harry S. Truman, and Oscar Wilde, as well as those from fictional characters such as Dennis The Menace. You'll also occasionally see an unattributed proverb or two. Since it simply displays text, this program is not graphically impressive by its very nature. Still, we were a bit surprised with the amount of available features. For example, you can set the background color to black or have it switch colors at random. You also can enable a text-scrolling effect, change the font of the quotes, and set the delay between screen switches. Folks who value substance over style may indeed find this screensaver an inspirational addition.
