Description
If you like Pokemon or Neopets, you will love this. We at Mezaman, LLC have taken the basic virtual-pet idea, built on it, and developed a new type of virtual-pet simulation. Newly added creatures, covers, and skins for your virtual pet make each one unique. Games and helping your virtual pet grow are educational for both you and the pet. An online community allows a place to talk to other pet owners and store pets. It's tons of fun.
Review
Remember the tamagotchi craze of the 1990s? The maker of PC Virtual Pet Software does, crafting a cute remake in which you must feed, entertain, and care for a puppetlike animal that lives in a tiny yellow keychain. The A, B, and C buttons open up the main activities menu, the statistics box, and the tips window respectively. The stats box can expand from showing the health meter only to displaying the individual hunger, happiness, and awakeness meters. Expand one more time to get details about your pet, such as allergies and weight. Each pet will be better or worse at games that include educational activities and Pong. The pet does display some personality, such as when Scott refused to take his medicine. The program opens with a screen that lets you choose the gender, life span, and breed of your pet. You're allowed to change the name, but in our testing the new name didn't take. Occasional stability issues like that somewhat bothered us. Still, PC Virtual Pet Software offers a low-commitment way to enjoy a cute desktop companion.
