Description
Magic File, the magic software can add a password to any files in your computer. Then when you use the encrypted file, you must input the right password, and if the password is right, you will run the file and use it. But you can do nothing when the password is wrong. The encrypt level and password level are high, believe they are safe. Another functions, you can use it to modify any file's any attributes, and you can use Magic File to see files with binary, octal, decimal, or hex code and modify them.
Review
This application effectively protects files, but it can't encrypt more than one file at a time. Magic File's Windows Explorer-like interface is marred by misspelled labels and instructions, but is still fairly easy to comprehend. Its security features were surprisingly effective, allowing you to password-protect files and choose from one of five secure algorithms. In our tests, Magic File successfully encrypted individual files, but couldn't encrypt folders or multiple files. It doesn't offer to delete the originals either, or include a secure file shredder. Oddly, although you can create self-decrypting executables, recipients will still need to have Magic File installed on their computer to open files. The program also allows you to modify the attributes of files and view them in several modes. Unfortunately, like the interface, the poorly written Help file is full of misspellings, and may confuse users rather than help them. Though it works well enough, there are a number of encryption utilities with the same security features that allow batch encryption and present a more polished and user-friendly interface.
