After unsuccessful experiment of the military AI control has been lost. To obviate the results there has been determined to annihilate AI with viruses. Nevertheless, endless attempts have failed. AI has learned to take control of viruses and in that way has become increasingly mightier. Nothing has been left but to create a virus, a man will take under his control. Your aim is to resist AI by means of viruses. Version 1.2 includes added difficulty levels.

Editor review

Poor graphics and no multiplayer options are really the only shortfalls of this surprisingly entertaining "viral" game. You gather groups of colored dots, representing a host of different nasty computer viruses, in order to wrest control of a network from an AI gone awry. To build up your viral army, you monitor your virus population as it grows, creating new groups as your main colony reaches its critical mass. Once you're armed, so to speak, you move your "cloud" over to the enemy side--whoever has the most dots wins. Virus isn't the most intuitive game, but it's easy to learn by reading the handy and brief help file, which all but walks you through the first level of game play. Background music helps liven up the action. While the design quality hardly justifies the $14.95 price tag, the trial levels of Virus may entertain mad computer scientists looking for some cheap thrills.
