Review
This small utility provides information about your computer's disk usage in real time, although it doesn't serve much of a functional purpose. FreeSpace XP's interface is tightly compressed, with information about your system's drives, total used space, and free space available, yet it is neatly displayed. A simple click extends the interface in a snap, and additional information such as the file system, volume serial number, and much more is at your fingertips. Extensive system information about your operating system, RAM use, and swap file usage is on hand, and it's nice to be able to determine the warning levels assigned to indicate disk usage and how often FreeSpace XP refreshes its information. This makes up the extent to which user customizations are afforded, however a handy CD control to open and close the CD-ROM drive is a minor, but neat little addition. Although it successfully gives information, it would certainly be helpful if FreeSpace XP could actually free up some space for you. With a free price tag, this information software is right for those only interested in keeping up with PC statistics.
