Review

Editor review

This simple utility to change filenames lacks versatility and doesn't always perform well. Folder Renamer is overly simple in design, but not intuitive and no Help file is offered. You'll need to type the path of the folder and choose Rename or Move, the only two offered options. It doesn't have a browser to help locate folders. Folder Renamer simply adds the parent folder name as a prefix to the child folder's name. It doesn't allow you to choose a name. Unfortunately, even when a dialog box indicated a successful operation not all of the folders were renamed. Additionally, you can't specify a new location when moving files. It simply moves any subfolders from child folders into the parent folder. Especially confusing for the novice user, this freeware is limited in functionality and output.
