Editor review

This application aims to curb the temptation to goof off while you work, though it falls short in a big way. While DoNotDisturb effectively blocks specified programs and Web sites, URL and browser blocking isn't available in this version. Getting started, the program detects the applications installed on your PC. Simply click on those that pose the biggest distraction, then specify the days and the length of time to immobilize the applications. During tests, we attempted to outsmart DoNotDisturb by adjusting the computer's clock but to no avail. You can't execute a simple system reboot to override this clever utility either. The program doesn't irrevocably halt all access during timed intervals, however, it does require you to enter a discouraging 64-character string to open its well-organized and intuitive interface just to disable blocks. This free version of DoNotDisturb is better categorized as a demo since it doesn't block the Internet. Nevertheless, those with addictive games and other applications installed on their PC will find it quite effective.
