Review
It lacks the automated touches found in other feed readers, but this freeware is easy to use and gets the basic job done. FeedAmasser's compact interface has only two choices: Amass Feeds and Show Feeds. Each works exactly as expected, although they feel out of order. You'll have to select from the Show list to get Amass to work.
FeedAmasser is preset with nine feeds, mostly Yahoo and CNN news pages. Simply click a feed and press Amass Feeds to see the latest headlines. Highlight a feed to read the summary in the tiny reading pane. The summary is pretty short, but the headline is hyperlinked if you want to read the full text.
FeedAmasser doesn't offer feed discovery or provide automatic subscribing. Its manual process is a simple matter of pasting a feed URL into the program. Finding feeds can be a bit of a challenge as your list expands because there's no way to organize your feeds or sort the subscription list.
If you're looking for a very simple way to pull news from a few feeds, this reader could be an option. However, most users will want more flexibility and features than FeedAmasser offers.
