Description

This program, designed in Macromedia Flash will put your computer in lock mode. When opened, you will enter the desired password for the session and then click lock. A message will appear stating that your computer is locked and will be unlocked when the correct password is entered. If a password is not correct, access will be denied and when unlocked, a message will appear telling the number of wrong passwords. This program is very useful by locking and hiding other background programs while still allowing downloads to run. Also includes the Beta version which uses Flash Player 8 (included) to run.

Editor review

This freeware application blocks any access to your PC through password-protected locking, but it isn't as secure as we'd expect. To begin, you'll need to have Macromedia Flash Player installed on your machine to run this program. In actuality, Spiderlock doesn't lock your PC as its name suggests; instead, its program's window display blocks your computer screen. A quick Ctrl Alt Delete will easily terminate this program's chief function. Each time it is launched, Spiderlock requires you to enter a password to enable and disable it. If an incorrect password is keyed in, access is denied and the blocked attempt is noted once the correct password is entered. All said, we don't recommend Spiderlock for protecting your computer from curious eyes since it is so easily disabled.
