Description
With Ghost Control Pro you can order your computer to do specific actions while you are away, all by sending a single SMS message using your mobile phone. Ghost Control is a user-friendly software that can record, save, and replay any mouse or keyboard actions you do while working on your computer. The recorded task can be executed even while you are away using advanced built-in scheduling system or the great new Remote Control Feature which allows you to send instructions to your computer from anywhere. Also, you can assign desired hotkeys for each recorded task you have to execute instantly. Export-to-exe feature is another big plus for Ghost Control Pro. All the recorded actions can easily be exported to EXE file that can be run like any other EXE file.
Version 2.1 supports HotKey, creates a hotkey triggered tasks, and adds some minor improvements.
Review
This software records mouse movement and keystrokes, but it couldn't handle all actions and it locked up repeatedly during testing. The program's interface offers large tabs to record, view existing controls, create schedules, and change options. The demo version didn't include a help file, an oversight that made it hard to get started. In testing, we encountered a number of problems with recorded macros that caused the program to lock up. When macros did work, we found that if you use the recent application listing in the Start menu, it goes to the recorded location but not necessarily the correct application. The Internet stymied it altogether, and it couldn't launch Web sites either through the Favorites menu or by typing the address. The Remote Control Settings feature is restricted only to the registered version, and recording time is limited in the trial version. With the stability and functionality issues found in Ghost Control Pro, we just can't recommend this app, especially not in a category so rich with options.
