Description

Use MultiGrabber to save multimedia files embedded in a Web page--quickly and conveniently. Save pictures, cascaded style sheets (CSS), scripts, Flash movies, QuickTime movies, RealPlayer movies and MediaPlayer movies. Automatically rename files (appending a count number to the name if a file with the chosen name already exists.) Version 3.6 also includes an Auxiliary Toolbar that allows saving embedded files. Multilanguage support is added. Version 3.61 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, or bug fixes.

This video- and image-grabbing utility is hit or miss when it comes to downloading multimedia files from Web pages.

Open a Web page, and you can launch MultiGrabber from an icon on your Internet Explorer toolbar. The interface displays the page's image and video file types as well as the images themselves. The tool also can grab CSS and source files from the site. You can easily choose to download by type or individually by selection. Click a single Save button, and MultiGrabber opens a dialog box to display what will download. Your files will be downloaded to a default folder. All the image files were there and opened perfectly, just as we expected. So far, so good, right?

Wrong. We could only view one Flash movie of the several we grabbed, and the JavaScript files could not be accessed. No matter how well-designed or intended, a program that fulfills some of its promises but not others will disappoint users of all levels.
