Description
eXPress Collage Lite makes it quick and easy for anyone to create a customized electronic presentation including images, captions and sounds. Collage presentations are a great way to show off family photos or display artwork. eXPress Collage is versatile and easy to use. Beginners may choose to take advantage of the wizard or the helpful features in the project pane, both featuring pre-designed templates. More advanced users will appreciate the fact that almost every detail of their project can be customized, from the placement and size of images, to the canvas background size and color, to the sounds and navigation links which may be associated with any image. When complete, a Collage presentation is easy to share. Publish it as a stand-alone presentation and no Collage software is required to view it.
Version 4 includes new templates/page layouts. Project wizard, single-screen design interface.
Review
This program makes collages for presenting your photos, but its setup and use prove to be cumbersome. EXPress Collage Lite is huge. At 126MBs, it pins a whopping nine folders and 153 files to your system after extraction. The multipaned interface features a wizard that directs you to select a folder of images for processing, though browsing and importing photos was nowhere near easy and the drag-and-drop features malfunction more often than not. Once you figure things out, the handy editing and layout tools work well in customizing photos with frames, personal captions, and even sound effects. Preview of the finished product is much appreciated, and we were pleased with the results as this convenient publishing tool transforms collages into an executable presentation. However, previews aren't available when selecting images and importing your photos one at time is also restricted. With that, this gargantuan program moves slowly and causes our other running applications to do the same. Tendering a strong set of features still, this free software is helpful to those looking for a way to tastefully present their photos.
