Yes, this tiny program does store your passwords. It doesn't do anything else, holds only the most basic information, and has a less-than-impressive search feature. Passwords is one of the most simple storage programs we've come across. While there's nothing wrong with simplicity, this one's missing a few very standard password storage program features. There's no Help file, but a program this basic doesn't really need one.

The interface is only three fields and a mass of buttons. The fields are Username, Password, and Used For. There are eight buttons including adding, saving, updating, and refreshing information. There's also a search function, but you have to enter the user name exactly or it won't return any results. A username pull-down menu is your only other method to find login information.

Record management is poor. There's no way to view, sort, categorize, or otherwise organize your data. Unlike similar programs, there's no method to enter notes. The Used for field can hold an account name or URL, but we prefer the option of having both.

Passwords is as simple as its name. It doesn't cost much, but this 30-day demo doesn't surpass some of the freeware options we've seen. We suggest users searching for a way to store login information keep looking. There are much better programs available.
