It converts not just AVI files but also MPEG, MPG, M2V, VOB, and DAT to DVD disc, DVD folder, or ISO file. The flexible output options mean you can create DVD disc images that you can store on your hard drive yet play like regular DVDs (with a disc-mounting tool). But AVI to DVD Converter does much more to help you make high-quality DVDs, such as creating menus, making clips, adjusting video quality, and adding audio and subtitles. You can set options like autoplay and extract images to use as DVD titles. AVI to DVD Converter is compatible with all DVD formats as well as Windows 8. It's free to try, though the trial places a watermark on output files.
AVI to DVD Converter's user interface opens with a Getting Started wizard outlining three easy steps for creating and burning DVDs: add files, select a destination from a drop-down menu, and start the burn. But the program hardly lacks for help, if you need it, the Help menu accesses a full standalone manual and an Online Help feature as well as a Feedback and Support link.
