GPS-GPX Logger for Windows 10
Description
GPS-GPX Logger for Windows 10: The Ultimate Travel Companion
Are you an avid traveler who loves to explore new places and document your journeys? Do you want to keep track of your trips and map out your routes with ease? Look no further than GPS-GPX Logger for Windows 10, the ultimate travel companion.
This app is designed to make mapping and trip logging a breeze. It uses the built-in GPS/GNSS device in your Windows 10 tablet and/or phone to map and log your trips. You can view the path in real-time on the installed Microsoft Here map, log your trip, and save it to a GPX file. Saved files can also be imported into Google Earth, Microsoft MapPoint or Streets and Trips, as well as many other apps that read GPX files.
One of the best things about this app is its compatibility across devices. You can download it on both your Windows 10 PC/tablet AND phone, making it easy to access all of your saved data from anywhere. Plus, you can import/export placemarks to a local file or cloud storage file in clear text XML format. Edit them easily in any text editor.
But what if something goes wrong while you're using the app? No worries - if you need to log data while running GPS tracking, be sure to start saving right away so that even if the app or phone/tablet crashes, you'll still have almost all of the data minus a minute or two.
Saved GPX files can also be used with FreeLogBook.biz - an electronic logbook that helps track mobiles within a company - making this app perfect for business travelers as well.
And now with its latest update, GPS-GPX Logger for Windows 10 works under lock screen or in the background so that even when not actively using it on-screen; it continues logging coordinates without interruption!
Compatibility
It's important to note that this app is designed specifically for use with GPS/GNSS Geolocation devices built into newer tablets and Windows phones. If you don't have one of these devices equipped with a GPS chip then unfortunately tracking won't work; however maps are still viewable! Please don't give this great tool low ratings because of something limited by hardware beyond our control!
Additionally: The tracking does not work with an external GPS connected by USB or com port (even if installed inside laptop). This limitation is due solely because of how Microsoft has implemented their operating system (Windows 10) rather than any fault within our application itself – sorry!

GPS-GPX Logger for Windows 10 offers several key features:

@Sarah, I agree! The GPX export feature is really useful. I've shared some of my hiking trails with friends, and they loved it!
Does it have support for importing GPX files as well? I have a few routes saved from other GPS devices that I'd like to use with this software.

@Linda, that's great to hear! I was wondering how well it performs for biking. Thanks for sharing your experience. I'll definitely give it a try for my cycling trips.
I've encountered a small issue with the software. Sometimes it takes a bit longer to lock onto GPS signals. Not a major problem, but it can be slightly frustrating. Anyone else noticed this?
@Sophia, yes, I've experienced that too occasionally. However, it usually resolves itself within a few seconds. It would be nice if the initial signal acquisition was a bit faster, though.
Overall, I'm really impressed with GPS-GPX Logger. It's a reliable and user-friendly tool for GPS tracking on Windows 10. Thumbs up!
@Adam, I couldn't agree more! I've been using this software for geocaching, and it has enhanced my experience significantly. Highly recommended for outdoor enthusiasts.
I must say, the interface of GPS-GPX Logger is clean and intuitive. Even as a beginner, I found it easy to navigate and start logging my GPS data.
I love how the software displays real-time statistics during my activities. It helps me monitor my progress and stay motivated. Great job, developers!
Has anyone tried using this software for flying activities like paragliding? I'm curious if it works well for capturing GPS data during flights.
@Adam, yes, I have! I've used it for paragliding, and it works like a charm. Accurate tracking, wide compatibility, and the ability to export routes as KML files for visualization.
@Michael, that's awesome! I didn't know it supports KML export too. Thanks for sharing. It expands the possibilities for using this software in various activities.
I've been using this software for my road trips, and the ability to add waypoints and create custom routes is fantastic. Helps me plan my journeys effectively.
@Mark, I totally agree! The waypoint and route features are incredibly useful. You can easily save and share your favorite travel routes with others.
The software seems to consume a bit more battery power when actively logging GPS data. It's something to keep in mind if you're using it for long periods.
@Sarah, I've noticed that too. However, I've found that adjusting the GPS polling rate to a slightly lower value helps preserve battery life without sacrificing much accuracy.
I've encountered a bug where the software crashes when trying to edit a waypoint's name. Other than that, it has been a reliable tool for my hiking trips.
@Daniel, I haven't come across that specific bug, but it's worth reporting it to the developers. They've been pretty responsive in fixing issues and releasing updates.
I love how the software can automatically tag photos taken during my trips with the corresponding GPS coordinates. It helps me organize my travel memories.
@Sophia, I find that feature really convenient too. It saves a lot of time when sorting and geotagging photos after a trip. Plus, it adds a nice touch to the memories.
The user support for GPS-GPX Logger is top-notch. Whenever I had a question or faced an issue, the team responded promptly and provided helpful solutions.
@Adam, I can vouch for that too. The developers genuinely care about their users' experience and continuously improve the software based on user feedback.
I've tried several GPS software for Windows, and GPS-GPX Logger stands out with its intuitive interface and reliable performance. Definitely my go-to choice now.
@Liam, I couldn't agree more. It's hard to find a GPS software that ticks all the boxes like this one. Glad to hear it's your go-to choice too!
I would love to see more customization options in the software, like changing map styles or adding personal markers. It would add a personal touch to the experience.
@Daniel, I'm with you on that. Customization options can really enhance the user experience. Hopefully, the developers take that into consideration for future updates.
One feature I often use is the ability to calculate elevation profiles of my routes. It helps me evaluate the difficulty level before embarking on a hike.
@Sophia, I find the elevation profiles very insightful too. It's a handy tool to assess the terrain and plan accordingly, especially for challenging hikes.
I'm a photography enthusiast, and GPS-GPX Logger has made it easier for me to geo-tag and organize my landscape shots. Love the seamless integration!
@Emma, as a fellow photography lover, I can't agree more. The seamless integration of GPS data with photos is a fantastic feature for travel and landscape photographers.
The software's auto-pause feature is very handy, especially during activities like running or cycling. It helps maintain accurate time and speed statistics.
@Michael, I love the auto-pause feature too. It eliminates the hassle of manually pausing and resuming tracking during short breaks or traffic stops.
One suggestion I have is to improve the accuracy of altitude recordings. I've noticed some discrepancies when compared to other devices.
@Mark, that's a valid point. Altitude accuracy is crucial for certain activities. Hopefully, the developers can fine-tune that aspect in future updates.
The software's tracking memory efficiency is impressive. Even during long activities, it doesn't consume excessive storage space on my device.
@Liam, I've noticed that too. The software efficiently manages memory usage without sacrificing tracking accuracy. It's definitely a plus for users with limited storage.
Does the software have any post-processing capabilities? It would be great to analyze the logged data further and extract more insights.
@Sophia, unfortunately, the software doesn't offer extensive post-processing capabilities. However, you can export the data and use third-party tools for detailed analysis if needed.
I've been using GPS-GPX Logger for my boating trips, and it works really well for tracking my routes on various water bodies. A versatile software!

@Daniel, I'm glad the support team was able to assist you promptly. Their dedication to customer satisfaction is one of the reasons why this software shines.
I appreciate the software's minimalist design. It focuses on the essentials and avoids clutter, making it easy to use and navigate.
@Michael, I'm a fan of minimalist design too. It keeps the software clean and user-friendly, allowing us to focus on our activities rather than complex interfaces.
