Description
Backup Firefox, Thunderbird, and Gaim profiles with the click of a button. Then restore them just as easily. Backzilla.Net is perfect for backing up all these profiles. No need to install. Once the profiles are backed up, you can transfer the folder to a new computer and use the restore feature to apply your profile to the new computer. If, for some reason, the restore fails, there is an undo feature. Version 2.1 has Backzilla.Net now can backup Gaim and Thunderbird profiles.
Review
Backzilla.Net provides very few functions and backs up user profiles on a small number of applications (Firefox, Thunderbird, and Gaim). The backup software comes to the plate with a disappointingly basic interface, but it is easy to use as you simply designate a folder to store the profile backup. Restoring the profile was just as fast and easy.
The only other feature provided is the option to undo the restore. In all fairness, the program did effectively store our Firefox profile in the folder of our choice, but we would like to see more applications covered, since most users will want software that can back up not only files and folders, but their Registry and hard drive.
A comprehensive backup tool this is not. However, this freeware works decently for backing up user profiles on three apps, and users who don't mind searching for another tool to cover other system areas may want to check this one out.
