This software front for a remote backup service offers some useful features but is marred by a confusing interface. The SystemSafe Online Backup service itself works well, keeping your files safe at a remote location, immune from disasters at home. The interface doesn't make it easy to pick files for backup or to set backup rules. The program includes a scheduler that lets you run backups when you're away from the computer, a necessary feature for any backup utility. Compression, coupled with incremental backups that only copy over files that have changed, will save considerable time when you upload your archive. For a multiuser environment, the service ensures dual-level protection from unauthorized access with an encryption key and account passwords. You also can share specified folders with other accounts. SystemSafe Online Backup works well for people who have critical data on their home computers.
