Description
ProxyCap enables you to tunnel Internet applications through HTTP, SOCKS v4, and v5 proxy servers. You can tell ProxyCap which applications will connect to the Internet through a proxy and under what circumstances. ProxyCap is done through a user-friendly interface, without the need to reconfigure any of your Internet clients. ProxyCap provides flexible rule system and allows you to define your own tunneling rules.
Review
If a firewall is keeping your Internet communications cooped up, proxy software can help. In our tests, ProxyCap allowed us to connect to a mail server while behind a firewall with Port 110 closed. It can unblock other Internet applications too, such as browsers, P2P clients, FTP utilities, and instant messengers. Ease of use was a mixed bag. On the one hand, ProxyCap is a snap to configure. You don't need to dig into any settings in your e-mail or IM client. You can set several redirection rules for specific applications and IP addresses. On the other hand, you have to supply SOCKS proxies yourself. For $30, we thought the developers could at least have provided an automatically updated list of proxies. But if that's not a problem, ProxyCap is an effective way to set your Internet connection free.
