Go Fishin'

Although it takes some getting used to, this fishing game makes for a pretty good time. In Go Fishin' your job is to catch a certain amount of fish in a given time frame. If you succeed, you'll earn money to buy better equipment. And while this sounds pretty easy, the task is made more difficult by alligators and sea monsters who try to hone in on your catch. The graphics look acceptable, although your character and boat appear somewhat small thanks to the game's bird's-eye point of view. We found the sound effects rather realistic, but you can turn them off if you like. Unfortunately, other than the ability to set the game speed, the audio-disable option is about the only feature you'll find. Controlling your boat and casting your line can be frustrating at first, but most users will get the hang of it after a couple of sessions. Avid fishermen will find this game a suitable companion for their work breaks.
